The FA WSL Continental Cup Review

There was no league action in the various English women’s leagues, but there was the Continental Cup which was thrilling to watch and like any competition in football, it had a few shocks in it.
First action of the Cup started in Group 3 where Birmingham City Ladies claimed bragging rights over Aston Villa away in a 2-0 victory. The goals came from Hannah Keryakoplis and Jade Moore. Also in Group 3, Bristol Academy played a 0-0 draw -tie- with Yeovil Town Ladies FC. The final action in Group 3 saw Oxford United get thrashed at home by Notts County Ladies, 4-0.
In Group 2, Everton Ladies rolled over Durham Women easily, winning 3-0, Man.City ladies did in fact shock Liverpool, beating them 2-1, via goals from Abbie McManus and Isobel Christiansen and then Beth Mead and Rachel Furness guided Sunderland Ladies to a 2-0 away win over Doncaster Rovers Belles.
And then Group 1 had Chelsea Ladies go past Millwall Lionesses, 4-0, Rosella Ayane scored twice along with Eniola Aluko and Jodie Brett. London Bees lost 3-1 to Watford Ladies at home and finally, Reading Women FC pulled another shocker, defeating Arsenal Ladies 2-0, Francesca Kirby and Lauren Bruton with the goals.
